Microsoft shows off two tiny Windows 10 PCs, including one that’s inside a power adapter
Microsoft showed off a bunch of upcoming PCs that will use Windows 10 during its Computex 2015 keynote address. Two of them are small form-factors designed to connect to big-screen TVs, including one, the Quanta Compute Plug, that has its PC hardware inside a power adapter.

Microsoft stated:
“The new Compute plug from Quanta is a mini PC and power adapter in one that can be plugged into any outlet and connected to a TV to turn it into a smart computer that can be controlled using Cortana via a Bluetooth remote or headset.”
Another small PC that was shown during the keynote was the Foxconn Kangaroo. Microsoft said:
“The Foxconn Kangaroo is an ultra-portable desktop PC powered by the latest Intel Cherry Trail processor, featuring a six-hour battery and a fingerprint reader that supports Windows Hello. It can turn a TV into a full Windows 10 PC, and be used as a set top box or streaming device.”
Both of these products are the latest attempts to put PC hardware inside tiny form-factors, similar to the recently launched Intel Compute Stick, which put a Windows 8.1 PC inside a HDMI dongle. There’s no word yet on the specific hardware inside the Quanta Compute Plug or the Foxconn Kangaroo, nor any information or a launch date or prices for these PCs.

Problem Steps Recorder
Often we want to capture screenshot to post or keep for some other reason. Usually print screen and paste on word document will do that. Using print screen and snipping tool is too many steps to achieve what you want to achieve in short time. Windows has its inbuilt screen capture recording tools that will do that as you click through. Actually it will capture everything that you open. But it will not capture sensitive information, such as password or any text that you type. Use comment feature to describe for the recording. With this tool you can capture still image from game, movie or simple screenshots.
To Record screen and save it to your computer:
1. Click to open Problem Steps Recorder. By click on start and type in search screen capture and you will Record steps to reproduce a problem.
2. Now click on Record steps to reproduce a problem.
3. Click Start record. Once you start record button then go use your computer. It will record everything you browse or open any program. You can pause it to resume it later.

4. After you finish your recording save it on your desire location, such as My Documents in my case I saved on desktop. It save as zip file. You can unzip (extract) it, after extracting it, you will see filename ending with .mht extension. Click here to know more about .mht. Remember this file always start with problem some number_then four digit number.mth
5. Open .mht file it in word by opening word prom program file or desktop shortcut. Then go to file, open and the file location (My Document) and open the .mht file. It will open in word and save as word document or PDF for documentation or instruction for someone who need it.

Take Ownership of Hard drive

Connect your hard drive using USB enclosure or any other method.
Restart your computer and start taping F8, you will see many options you choose SAFE MODE
GO TO computer (Windows 7, Vista user) windows 8 and 8.1 user MY PC where you see all the drive. Now take your mouse on the drive you want to take ownership, right click on the drive and go to Properties and click on Click on Security Tab as seen in picture below.
Click On Advanced
Make sure you have Administrator right to the computer you are using to take ownership of hard drive.
then click on Effective permissions
Now you will see list of control you want, click on full control and scroll down and click on take ownership
then click OK. you may get prompt asking if you are sure. just click yes.
Internet Security (Trial)
and once it take ownership you restart your computer and save or transfer file from external hard drive to your hard drive.
Slow Computer?
Slow Computer? Optimize and clean junk file will boost your computer speed.
There are many ways to speed up your computer:
1. Uninstall all unwanted programs.
2. Download CCleaner to clean your unwanted and temporary file and registry extension that are left out after uninstalled programs. Or use windows inbuilt program. Using windows tool to clean unwanted and temporary file:
Right Click on disk, go to properties and click on Disk Cleanup button. And then next screen you can select file type to delete and start clean up.
3. Optimize your computer using windows tool Disk defragmenter or use third party software. But when you use third party software be careful what you installing. Because it come with adware and spyware. So download good one, do some research before you proceed.
Windows tool: Click on start, click on search box and type disk defragmenter, click on Disk Defragmenter first click on Analyze Disk, once analyzing finish the you can Click on Defragment disk
4. Check your startup file on Msconfig, sometime computer slow booting because you might have many application trying to run upon booting.
Click on start
and type in search box msconfig and enter Uncheck the startup program that you do not want to load at startup. Click Ok and it will ask you to restart your computer. Click ok.
5. Run CHKDSK in command mode to fix error in your hard drive. If you are one of those who just push the power button to turn of computers, then you must do CHKDSK all the time. CHKDSK verifies the file system integrity of the volume and fixes logical file system errors. CHKDSK also check bad sector in your hard drive and mark them as bad sectors. 6. Increase Virtual memory (paging File), If you open more program and windows then you can increase Virtual Memory of Windows 7, Virtual memory work with Physical memory. Hard disk space use as virtual memory to keep temporary information, very rarely used by OS or Programs. It help to run programs and OS smoothly.
a. Right click on My Computer
b. Select Properties
c. Click on Advance system Settings
d. Go to Advance tab
e. Click on the setting button the performance
f. Click on Advance again
g. Customize your virtual memory. Its depend on your hard disk size and physical memory. Make sure it’s not less than system recommended size. Normally recommended size is 1.5 of your computer physical memory.
Press set button and you might have to restart your computer.
7. Indexing in Windows 7 made for improve speed of Windows search. When you search a file or folder on windows search, if it’s already indexed by indexing service then results will appear immediately from indexed cache.When you use third party indexing search programs such as Ava Finder, Google Desktop then disable windows 7 indexing service. This method avoids two programs to index your whole data and slow down disk performance.Also windows search service can be disabled in Computer Services. Go to Computer Management, Services and look for ‘Windows Search’. Set Disable to startup type and Click Apply. You can find out indexing options in Control Panel -> Indexing Options -> Modify button
8. Virus check, make sure your computer has no virus. There are many anti-virus program. Microsoft Security Essential, AVG and there are more. Download and scan for virus.
Guide to DISKPART
1. Insert the flash drive into your Windows machine and back up anything from the flash drive that you wanted to keep. We are going to reformat it.
2. Open up a command prompt.
3. Type diskpart and press Enter.
After a second you should have the prompt DISKPART>
4. Type list disk. A list of your connected hard drives will appear.
Make sure you see your flash drive on the list.
In the example below my 4GB flash drive is Disk 2.
Command – DISKPART
5. Type select disk
2 but change the disk number to whatever your drive is. Make sure you get this right.
If you continue with these steps on the wrong disk you will end up erasing all of that drive of contents. Be careful.
6. Type clean. It should only take a few seconds to clean.
7. Now type create partition primary. This command should complete almost immediately.
8. Type select partition 1
9. Type active
10. Type format fs=fat32 quick to format the flash drive.
11. Lastly, type assign and then exit
12. Format complete! You can close the command prompt.
After finish format you can use ultraISO to extract out the Bootable ISO to the thumb drive.
Use this method i have created a lot of bootable thumb drive
Bootable SCCM ISO.
Bootable Windows 7 / 8
Bootable Acronis ISO
Whatever bootable ISO you also can use method to boot. Enjoy carry bootable OS Thumb drive.
WMI Repository fix, repair, or rebuilt
WMI Repository steps to fix, repair, or rebuilt
There are several ways to get this done. you can fix it, repair it, or rebuilt it. It’s all up to you. I am going to show you all these steps. follow along with me and your computer will be working without error.
Many a time the WMI Repository gets corrupted which results in Provider Load Failure. In this guide, we will share how to repair or rebuild the WMI Repository on Windows 10. Those who aren’t aware, Windows Management Instrumentation or WMI is a set of specifications from Microsoft to consolidate the management of devices and applications in a network. It is a database that stores meta-information and definitions for WMI classes. Only using these, the conditions of the systems can be known.
The repository is available here –
%windir%\System32\Wbem\Repository
In brief, it provides end users the status of the local or remote computer system.
Note: Do not use this on Server 2012 Cluster machine
Repair or rebuild the WMI Repository on Windows
There are command-line tools to fix or restore the WMI repository. However, Microsoft suggests that its best that you verify if there is corruption.
Below is a list of errors and permission issues you might see-
- Unable to connect to root default or rootcimv2 namespaces. It fails with the error code “0x80041002” pointing to “WBEM_E_NOT_FOUND.”
- When you open Computer Management and Right Click on Computer Management (Local) and select Properties, you get the following error: “WMI: Not Found” or it hangs trying to connect
- 0x80041010 WBEM_E_INVALID_CLASS
- Trying to use wbemtest, and it hangs
- Schemas/Objects missing
- Strange connection/operation errors (0x8007054e).
The ultimate way to check is to run this command in an elevated Command Prompt.
winmgmt /verifyrepository
If the repository has an issue, it will respond “repository is not consistent,” if not then its something else causing the issue. Now that you are sure the corruption exists let’s follow these tips to repair or rebuild the WMI repository.
1] Reset WMI Repository
Open Command Prompt with elevated privileges.
Run the command:
winmmgmt /salvagerepository
Then execute the command to see if it now comes back as consistent-
winmgmt /verifyrepository
If it says that Repository is not consistent, then you need to run:
winmgmt /resetrepository
It will help you fix the WMI repository. Here is what each of the WMI commands means:
- salvagerepository: This option when used with winmmgmt command performs a consistency check. If an inconsistency is detected, it rebuilds the repository.
- verifyrepository: Performs a consistency check on the WMI repository.
- resetrepository: The repository is reset to the initial state when the operating system is first installed
Hope that explains what happens when you execute the commands.
2] Force Recover WMI
WMI comes with an inbuilt self-recovery process. When the WMI service restarts or detects any corruption, the self-recovery procedure will trigger automatically. It happens in two ways:
AutoRestore: Here it will use the backup images if the VSS (Volume Shadow copy) backup is turned on.
AutoRecovery: In this, the rebuilding process will generate fresh images of Repository based on registered MOFs. The MOFS is available in the registry here:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM: Autorecover MOFs
Note: Autorecover MOFs is a key. Double-click on it to check the value.
WMI Self-recovery does not work
If the self-recovery doesn’t work, you can always use the force-recovery process.
Check regkey value is empty or not here:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM\Autorecover MOFs
If the above regkey is empty, copy-paste the regkey value from another machine. Make sure it’s from System which is equivalent to the computer in question.
Next, execute the command-
Winmgmt /resetrepository
If you get an error “WMI repository reset failed. Error code:0x8007041B. Facility: Win32”, then stop all Dependency Services on the WMI service by running the following commands:
net stop winmgmt /y Winmgmt /resetrepository
If both of the suggested fixes don’t work, its time you try an automated tool.
3] WMI Fixer Tool
This tool will fix Server’s WMI Repository when they’re corrupted or experiencing related issues. You can download the WMI Fixer Tool from Technet.

How to rebuilt WMI Repository
1) Start the computer and press F8 on bootup and select Safe Mode.
2) In the start menu type “cmd” (without quotes) and on the top search result, right-click the program icon and choose run as administrator
3) Type “net stop winmgmt” (without quotes) and press Enter to make certain theWindowsManagementInstrumentation (WMI) service is not running.
4) Open a Windows Explorer and locate the path to C:\Windows\System32\WBEM folder and rename the Repository folder to something else like RepositoryOLD (right click and choose ‘Rename Folder’).
5) Reboot and restart as normal.
6) In the start menu type “cmd” (without quotes) and on the top search result, right-click the icon and choose Run as administrator
7) Type “net stop winmgmt” (without quotes) and press enter to stop the WMI service.
8) Type “winmgmt /resetRepository” (without quotes) and restart the computer.
